The Great British Roast Dinner

A traditional dish eaten in Britain for Sunday lunch is : roast dinner.

It is made up of:
oven cooked meat (what we call roasted meat)
roast potatoes, (cut into chunks and cooked for 1 hour in oil until crispy)
vegetables,(traditionally – carrots, parsnips, onions, cauliflower)
gravy (sauce)
& Yorkshire pudding (like a pancake mixture cooked in a the shape of a bowl)

International cafe made a trip to the Toby Carvery restaurant, Worcester Park to enjoy this meal. They serve an ‘all you can eat’ buffet roast dinner.
We had a choice of meat: gammon, beef, turkey or pork, and a selection of vegetables. We even got to try ‘stuffing’ and Yorkshire puddings (they are not really puddings!)

Everyone enjoyed the food, but no one had room for pudding!
Maybe next time we will go and try a traditional British Pudding: the apple crumble.

Come and meet our friends, on Tuesdays at 7pm, @ The Hub, 234-236A Canbury Park Rd, Kingston, KT2 6LF
